Hello all,
I have a few questions about processing a form.
Yes, I know, I probably should RTFM, but I have to have it running at the end of
the day...so please, please help me out.
Thanks!
Q1.
<form name="polls" action="polls_process.php?" method="get">
When I submit the form (from polls.php) and process the form (with
polls_process.php) the active page becomes polls_process.php (just processing,
no output, empty browser screen). But I dont want to change the page! I want to
stay on polls.php. Do the processing, but stay on polls.php. Is this possible?
polls.php?a=1&b=2&...
---> polls_process.php
<processing>
<--- polls_process.php
polls.php?a=1&b=2&...
I don't want to loose a=1&b=2&... on polls.php...
Q2.
Should a use get for retrieval only, and post in other cases? (updates)
Q3.
Should I always use $HTTP_GET_VARS['var'] and $HTTP_POST_VARS['var']? The
reference $var also works fine. Or is this only necessary when I use both get
and post action in one script?
Q4.
I often see the @ in front of $HTTP_POST_VARS['var'] (@$HTTP_POST_VARS['var']).
I found out that @ mean silent execution. But what could go wrong with
$HTTP_POST_VARS['var']?
Met vriendelijke groet / With kind regards,
