Hello, I have made available the first release of pam_auth, a PAM
extension for PHP4. PAM is a flexible authentication system used on Linux
and Solaris which allows authentication to be handled by combinations of
modules. With this extension on a PAM enabled system, you can use php to
authenticate users via any supported PAM module such as local password
files, Windows NT Domains, Kerberos, Radius, and many others. My goal was
to make a simple, clean extension which would allow anyone to easily
authenticate with PAM without worrying about the details of the PAM
API. If you need the PAM API, Steve Langasek has a great extension that
will do that.
More information and answers to the most likely questions can be found at

Note: This is an initial release, I have as of yet only tested it on x86
Linux (RedHat 6.2). I'll verify functionality on Solaris and LinuxPPC
shortly, please report any success or failure if you try some other
platforms.
