=20 in output/input?

Hi people,
I have a problem with a script i made. This scripts takes input from stdin
and saves this information in a database. For some reason some lines end
with "=" or "=20". and i just can't figure out why, because the orinal
input
doesn't have this.
It's probably has something to do with special characters like linefeeds or
whatever, but how can i work around this (filter this).
