Hi everyone,
I am trying to build PHP 4.0.3 pl1 as a dynamic obejct for
Apache 3.1.14.
Configuration and compilation seem to work just fine, but linking
produces the following error message:
/bin/sh /scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/libtool --silent --mode=link gcc -I. -I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/
-I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1 -I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/main -I/opt/packages/apache-1.3.14/include
-I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/Zend -I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1 -I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/mysql/libmysql
-I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/xml/expat/xmltok -I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/ext/xml/expat/xmlparse
-I/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/TSRM -DXML_BYTE_ORDER=12 -g -O2 -o libphp4.la -rpath
/scratch/php-4.0.3pl1/libs -avoid-version stub.lo Zend/libZend.la sapi/apache/libsapi.la
main/libmain.la regex/libregex.la ext/mysql/libmysql.la ext/pcre/libpcre.la ext/posix/libposix.la
ext/session/libsession.la ext/standard/libstandard.la ext/xml/libxml.la TSRM/libtsrm.la -ldl
-lresolv -lbind -lm -ldl -lcrypt -lnsl -lresolv
/usr/bin/ld: .libs/libphp4.so: undefined versioned symbol name __ns_name_unpack@@GLIBC_2.1
/usr/bin/ld: failed to set dynamic section sizes: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I reduced the configure command line to
./configure --prefix=/opt --with-apxs to avoid possible problems, but
to no avail.
The system is a pure Debian 2.2 "potato" box.
I have succeded in building and running the static version of PHP,
but I'd rather use the DSO.
I remember reading something about this problem, but I just can't seem
to find the info, at least not in the FAQ or the list archives. I
guess I have been looking with the wrong search words ;-)
Any help or pointer to literature is greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
