Sure.
Change your LINK to a FORM with an INPUT TYPE="image" and use
METHOD="POST" on the FORM tag.

<?php
if (isset($clicked_x)){
echo "($clicked_x, $clicked_y)<br />";
}
?>
I dunno why everybody else gave you such complicated answers.
It's still not a PHP question, though, except it's confusing PHP changes
".x" and ".y" into "_x" and "_y" on the variable names
because "." is not
valid in variable names. :-)
