That is because your php code made the directory and is therefore the owner. My directory already exists and was made by ftp.Well, in that case you are toast... nothing short of becoming the 'ftp' user or becoming the superuser or becoming a member of the group that directory belongs to is going to let you change permissions.... good luck! -philip
