Hello Samantha, I wouldn't say I know 'a lot' about Dynamic Linker errors but I have managed to get builds of php3 & 4 compiled when the odds looked against it :o) Usually it's been the php configure/source thats been at fault. If you let me know your platform, version of SCO (openserver/unixware), compiler(dev. sys. cc / GNU gcc), any other gnu utilities installed and versions and the extra libraries you are trying to compile in I will try to help. Your php version, configure and view of the compiler 'blah blah blah' would be handy to. I have Openserver 5.0.4, gcc 2.95.2pl1, flex 2.5.4, bison 1.2.5, binutils 2.8.1, gmake 3.78.1, autoconf 2.12, automake 1.4, perl 5.005.03, m4 1.4 and libtool 1.3.4. I currently compile with Informix, zlib and GD 1.3 and now 'trying' to get GD 1.8.3 with libjpeg, libtiff and libpng and pdflib 3.0.2 to compile as well. You're welcome to reply off list as you were concerned this isn't a PHP problem, but may well turn out to be an PHP install problem.
