Sharing variables between processes

Hello!
Is it possible to share a variable between several process of the same
script? I mean without for example writing the variable to a file and forcing
the scripts to reread the file. As I have to develop the script on Windows, I
cannot use semaphore or shared memory functions :(((.
I could not find any information on this issue in the mail-archives or
FAQs.
