403 Forbidden.(Why's htacces a problem..??)

Hi Guyz.. I am having problem activating the USER AUthentication. It show me 403 Forbidden. I'll just list down the things taht I have done: First of all I made a .htaccess file under /usr/local/apache/htdocs/admin AuthFile /etc/.htpasswd AuthGroupFile /dev/null AuthName dhaval Authtype basic <Files useradd.php> Order Deny,Allow Deny From All Allow From localhost Require user dhaval Satisfy any </Files> Then I added the following lines in the httpd.conf file under /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf <Directory /usr/local/apache/htdocs/admin> AuthName "Members Only" AuthType basic AuthFile /etc/.htpasswd require valid-user </Directory> Then I activated the following: htpasswd -c /etc/.htpasswd dhaval then I did the following: htpasswd -c /usr/local/apache/htdocs/admin/.htaccess dhaval But Now the problem is that Whenever I try the following: http://127.0.0.1/admin I get a Login Prompt I type my username and password but doesn't work Says Authorisation Failure Retry? 403 Forbidden Can u help me out guyz..? When I gave the command: htpasswd -c /etc/.htpasswd dhaval It said that it couldn't open the file for write.. fopen and something something.. So I created the file manually under /etc/.htpasswd Could this be the problem..If yes..what should I do..
