On Windows you can set the port by setting smtp_port in php.ini. Unix doesn't appear to have a direct equivalent, but you might be able to do something with sendmail_path? As for SMTP authentication, when I wanted to do this on Windows I went for phpmailer http://phpmailer.sourceforge.net/ Hope this is of some help Mark
