Hi all,
I'm running Apache 1.3.14 and PHP 4.0.1pl2 on Mac OS X Server (although I
encountered the same problem when doing the install on a Yellowdog Linux
box). Php is installed as a DSO module
Apache and PHP installed fine, and work. My problem comes when trying to
start apache. When I issue the start command, I get the standard message
saying that Apache has started, but a ps -aux shows that none of the
processes have started. In order to start the server, I need to comment out
the AddModule and LoadModule lines that load the php4 module, start the
server, uncomment the and issue a restart command. PHP then works fine
until apache kills off it's children and then tries to restart them, it
can't start the children, and only the root apache process is left running.
any ideas?
Brad.
