    phpinfo() ;

?> I get what I expected. If I make a file containing <?php phpinfo() ; // Now a simple class and a call to the class

    class Simple()
    {
        void __construct()
        {
            echo "In the constructor" ;
        }
    }

    $newSimple = new Simple ;
