Hello.
I'm doing a search engine for a dating site. We have various data about
the site's users (stored in a MySQL database), which we then use for
matching them.
Does anyone have:
(a) Sample code
(b) Any suggestions
It would work something like this:
Must match:
sex
sexuality
age
Preferences:
Interests - e.g., likes watching TV
Appearance
Personal beliefs
What I was thinking is to construct a table from the users containing
only those that match the 'must-haves', but I'm not sure how best to do
the indefinite things. I was thinking of giving a score for each match
- e.g., +5 if they both like cats etc., and then giving a match if the
score's high enough. However, I thought this might be a bit slow for
all the users so I wonder if anyone has any other suggestions.
