php / mysqli problem

I have a couple of questions about php and accessing mysql 4.1 via the mysqli interface. I get the following warning on a script: <b>Warning</b>: mysqli::mysqli() [<a href='function.mysqli</a>]: User jt_select has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections in .... but this server is in development. Is there a way to show what the active connections are either via PHP or a mysql command line tool? I would obviously either suspect code or mysql but the code looks fine. thanks, jon
