What i would like to do is be able to authenticate (not authorise) user names against passwords from a remote Unix box so users of that system can also get access to the web pages. The goal is not to use a copy of the file or anything like that but actually testing to see if the user has a valid pasword with as litle as possible fuss. I've thought of using opening up a telnet session (via PHP) but there really should be a better way. Thanks for any ideas, mn Mark Nold markn@enspace.com Senior Consultant Change is inevitable, except from vending machines. -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
