file upload permissions

Hi,
I wrote a script to allow mulitiple file uploads. The script works
great, but only if he destination directory has nobody.nobody
permissions (which it doesn't). How can I change the owner.group of the
upload file so that I don't have to make the upload directory world
readable!!
