Hi Jason,
Yeah the guy i work with had an idea fo making multi-user pixel art
rather large pixels though, so each click submitted this info to the
database
and then reloaded the whole table back into flash
but after 170 clicks the return data (170 rows of very simple ascii data)
caused the Flash player to crash. The Flash file was built in Flash 4 not
5. Since i am not Flash Savvy i can answer that, i can ask my colleague
since hes our resident Flash Guru (hope he doesnt find out I said that LOL).
He not here at the moment. Talk to him tomorrow.
I do remember getting an email from Julie Meloni about that problem but we
were to busy to
pursue the idea further at the time. She seemed to know a bit about Flash
and PHP
she's done a PHP4 Tutorial on webmonkey.com. See if she will help you
All I can say at the moment but I will endeavor to find out some more for
you
Cheers
Steven

What kind of limits did you run into? With F5 and the HTML format textboxes,
does this mean there is a limit on how much data can be sent?

Hi Guys,
I have done some PHP that enabled a Flash form to read and wriet data to
MySQL but ran into seom problems with Flash
and the amount of data it could handle at a time (major bummer). I can dig
up the code and the info we used to get
Flash and PHP talking. I am not a Flaqsg developer one of the guys I wirl
with is itwas all his idea i just did the PHP
MySQL bits. I does work quite well though, and yeah "Cool Forms" you can
certainly make, its a good use of the technology
:)
I'll pot some links to what we refered to when i dig it out.
Cheers
Steven

Try www.flashplanet.com for a start on Flash tutorials... do a search in the
resource engine on PHP might turn up something, what kind of *cool forms*
are you talking about? I've done a guestbook with Flash/PHP and it seems to
work quite well...

I'm looking for good examples of the use of PHP and Flash to generate "cool"
forms. Also, I'm lookin for a good (and free) Flash tutorial.
Could someone help me ?
Thanks in advance.
