sending a mail

I beg your perdon for my inglish. I just learned something about PHP and I allready have a problem. I have intalled OMNI HTTd web server for windows, and PHP3 3.0.2. I trid to implemet a lot of examples and all run ok, but when I tried to send a mail it didn't run. The browser shown this message "Warning: Failed to Connect in....". I thought it was a problem with the configuration of the web server or the PHP3, and I tryed a lot of things but no one solve the problem. Please I will appeciate your help.
