e-comm software

I have a potential client who is interested in adding his very large product catalog to his website --- I'm talkin approx. 3000 items. He is determined to have the project online by February so there is a bit of a time constraint. Could someone please suggest a php/mysql system that would suit my clients needs? I had a look at phpshop and the exchange project but I would still like to explore all of my options. It doesn't necessarily have to be GNU either, this guy would spend the cash if the system is what he needs.
