Wow. Somewhere on the http://www.php.net/ there used to be
information
about doing that and migrating from PHP/FI to PHP3, and I think the upshot
was that those functions could be easily done in user-code (IE, just plain
PHP code).
You do realize that we're on PHP4 (4, not 3) at this point?
For the Logging, you may also wish to look into the wonderful packages
such as "Analog" or "Webalizer". IIRC, one reason for not logging in PHP3
is that there's no point in trying to duplicate the functionality of those
tools.
