it's in /proc/sys/fs/file-max
you can echo a new limit to that file at startup, or it can be changed
in the kernel source
I can't offer any knowledge about this other than that it works for me -
so you should read up on the pros and cons (if any) of doing this before
you do it rather than just blindly trying it - it's bound to be covered
in the HOW-TO's
