xmldocfile probably isn't a valid function because you don't have the
xml extensions installed.
try:
<?php
$exists = function_exists('xmldocfile');
if ($exists) {
echo "xmldocfile exists!";
} else {
echo "xmldocfile doesn't exist!";
}
?>
