Thanks to everyone that replied.
I just looked at the PEAR directory of the sources.
Apart from DB I saw more interesting things like Benchmark, File,
PHPDoc, XML, Payment, Net, File, HTML (4.0.3.pl1).
And I have a couple of questions :-) (as expected)
Are all of these usable?
Are there to stay? That is, can I bet on them being there for the
foreseable future (e.g. next couple of releases)?
Is that the preferred way of extending PHP or the developers are just
waiting for them to mature enough to make them plain function calls?
