Problem with sessions

Hi,
Whenever i try to create a new session i get an error like this -
Warning: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of
session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0
This is the exact code that i use -

session_register("prd1");
session_register("prd2");
$prd1= "Sonic Screwdriver";
$prd2= "HAL 2000";
print session_encode();
print "The products have been registered";
print session_save_path();
?>
And this is the detailed error which i get -

I work on a Win NT server and IIS has been installed on it.
Can anyone please tell me what the problem is ?
