Hi
post your ./configure command you used to install PHP
and the version.
also
have you read this tutorial
http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/00/44/index4a.html?tw=programming
installing PHP4 as DSO requires apache to have DSO enabled in apache
this maybe where you are having trouble
read the tutorial and you should have more luck
if not post another more specific message
:)

Subject: [PHP] installation problem
Hello, I have thoroughly looked through the FAQ and did not find anything
to help me with my problem. I installed PHP4 from the downloaded source at
php.net. I edited my http.conf file to include the
LoadModule php4_module modules/libphp4.so
and
AddModule mod_php4.c
When i try to run a test page, the browser brings back a simple Internal
Server Error. and the error log says this:
[Sun Nov 12 23:59:25 2000] [error] (8)Exec format error: exec of
/usr/httpd/cgi-bin/date.php4 failed
[Sun Nov 12 23:59:25 2000] [error] [client 128.97.39.185] Premature end of
script headers: /usr/httpd/cgi-bin/date.php4
My httpd.conf file also contains the directives for php3 and php, and i
tried running this page with these lines comments out or not, but neither
thing helped.
This must be a simple problem, but i cannot seem to find just the right
answer.
Is it true that i need to reinstall both apache and php4?
Thanks in advance.
