I assume you've mapped drive X to the network share for the user that Apache runs as? If not are you really surprised that it can't find that file? Try using the UNC path ("\\\\server\\share\\Transfer\\test.dbf") [note double backslashes]. If that still doesn't work then it's likely a permissions issue. -Stut
