I'm using Linux Red Hat and Apache.
1) My Web (PHP) application is in (/home/httpd/html) /app/test.php
2) I have 4 directories :
/home/dir1
/home/dir2
/home/dir3
/home/dir4
each with different user/password.
So, I guess there are 2 choices :
1) Give rihgts to Apache user (nobody) over those 4 directories.
or
2) Access the file inside those directories by user and password, something
like
fopen($user1:$password1@/home/dir1/file1.txt)
is this correct?....may be the second one be the more "luxury" solution,
is't it??...
Thanks in advance.....

What OS are you running? If you're running Unix (and possibly Windows, I
don't know), your httpd.conf file will tell you which user your webserver is
running as. You can also run "top" and look which user it lists for httpd.
By default I believe it is user 'nobody'. On windows permissions don't
really mean anything. It'll pretty much do whatever it feels like. :)

Hi friends !
I'm developing an application with PHP, this application read information
of a file x ejem
/home/test/test.txt
After read it, I delete it.
Another application inside my company put this file on that directory, my
question is, what about rights??, what about file and directory rights??.
I mean, somebody with user/password put a file in this directory, but how
my application can delete this file??, what user my application (PHP) is
using??...
Sorry if this is a easy questio, but I'm confiuse..
Thanks....
