More of a MySQL question, but my SQL knowledge is very basic at the
moment. I sent it with OT in the subject line but it got rejected.
Scenario:
My "Web Content Delivery" system allows editing of Web Pages by clicking a
link embedded on the page (for approved users).
The page is returned in fields on a form.
Options are Save/Delete/New etc...
Problem:
Before I change or delete the record from my Navigation table I want to
copy/backup the record to another table.
Qeustion:
Is there some sort of SQL statement I can use that works something like:
SELECT * FROM Navigation WHERE ID = '1' AND INSERT INTO Old_Pages
OR
COPY TO Old_Pages Navigation RECORD WHERE ID = '1'
I was hoping to save writing another php function to backup the record
first.
I will need to include the same functionality for a number of tables.
TIA
