That's pretty weird...
Check the MagicQuotes settings in your php.ini to make sure they are sane.
And, I guess, maybe, an Option key on a Mac being stuck down could do
that, or something, since that gives some weird non-ASCII space
character...
Is this a new install, or any recent changes or...?
Maybe print out the ASCII values of the data you're getting to be sure it
really is a pipe after each space, and not some other weird character
being put in place of a space.
