It's not a compilation problem with 3.0.17 - if I list the paths to
the DBMSs in the configure line everything compiles just fine.
I need to specify the full paths to the DBMSs' directory trees to make
sure the necessary libraries are beign found. configure dies with an
error message otherwise. The path to the libraries is included in the
/etc/ld.config file, so I am pretty sure that the necessary libraries
are found. phpMyAdmin and phpPgSQL work fine, except for the
freuquent problems in loading the pages.
I do get error messages like :
Fatal error: Failed opening required 'l' in
/home/webservers/club-ceronne/ceronne/navigation.php3 on line 128
This one is taken from a virtual server which does not utilize any
database code.
Line 128 is in an included file which works flawlessly with the static
version of PHP 3.0.x and 4.0.x. It's a menu generation code which I
use on a couple of sites without any problems. It's my development
system that's causing the trouble.
Things seem to work nicely if neither PostgreSQL nor MySQL support are
compiled into the DSO. I am just about out of ideas. (If any more
information is required, please let me know).
Upgrading to PHP 4 has not helped, as 4.0.3pl1 will compile but not
link when I try to compile it as a DSO.
I get:
/usr/bin/ld: .libs/libphp4.so: undefined versioned symbol name __ns_name_unpack@@GLIBC_2.1
This happens both with and without --enable-versioning. I am using
GNU make, just as the FAQ suggests. But that's a different story.
Cheers -- Stephan
