Thanks reply first... but most wired is from the php.net doc, "require"
should only use *relative path* and should not use "absolute path" (ie.
, is it true? When i run nslookup, the
respond is good and no unexpected delay, that's why i suspect how the php3
lookup the include file process..
rgds..
..yat
BTW, there is no mechicism to check the process of the php since it is part
of httpd ,

If you are getting a file that is on your local server, either put it
in a directory that is in your include_path, in the same directory as
the script that is running, or in a location that is fully qualified.
Look in the Configuration section of the PHP manual for info on
include_path.
Using the http://www.mysite.com/ notation reqires php to ask
your web
server to send the file to you over the network, if you use a
filesystem path it can open the file itself.

One common long delay is DNS failures. It usually costs 30 seconds for
each DNS server configured in your resolv.conf that cannot find an
address. That is usually the first thing I look at when I see l o n g
delays. (nslookup)
But in this case, the first thing to do is get rid of the html
transaction in your require.
