PHP doesn't "put things in $_SERVER" PHP exposes server input variable via $_SERVER So if what you want isn't in $_SERVER, then it's not there because your web-server (or CGI or FCGI or CLI) is not providing it in the first place, so PHP can't expose what isn't there. -- Some people have a "gift" link here.
