I'm going to try and help you with your questions, the php related ones,
When you compile php you need to configure it with,
--with-imap[=DIR] Include IMAP support. DIR is the IMAP include
--with-ldap[=DIR] Include LDAP support. DIR is the LDAP base
When it comes to phplib, I dont use it, so I can't help you out with this.
