Nop! Unless you plan on using old applications that use ipv4 socket conections. Example, our Informix 7.30 doesn't work on Solaris 8, but does (not very good) on Solaris 7. I guess other applications had the same problems. At the moment we have MySQL, PostgreSQL, PHP4 and Apache running on a Solaris 8 (SPARC) machine with rare problems.
