Based of Jasons post, here is a little function to do your bidding : <?php // letters to analyze $letters = array ('a','b','c','d','e','f','g','h'); // To execute : MakeCombos($letters); // Provides : $combos_count = number of combos // $combos = array of all combos function MakeCombos($array) { global $combos,$combos_count; $max = count($array); for ($n0 = 0; $n0 < $max; $n0++) { for ($n1 = 0; $n1 < $max; $n1++) { $combos[] = $array[$n0] . $array[$n1]; } } $combos_count = count($combos); } ?> Had all these master plans to expand this but then said to self, "why? stop straining your brain" so i stopped :-) If others would like to add configurations such as "combo size","repeat on/off" ... feel free!
