I am already using postgres.. basically i have 3 databases (not 3 tables) and i
need to join the results from them (havent found a way to do it internally in
postgres.. if any1 knows please suggest) .. so i am doing it at PHP level.. its
not really that slow.. (about half a second to sort 1000 records with a quicks
sort written in php) its just that the memory grows to 20 mb per server (peak)
and does NEVER come back to normal therefore killing the system.
to me it doesnt make much sense to have 512 mb of memory (as you suggest) for a
web site that has a DB with only 5000 records.. and receives.. which servers
max 50 users per DAY .
All i want is my memory back when its unused.. :)
