yeah, that's exactly why I don't use gmail
That's why I use gmail for lists, but not for work or personal mail. The spam filtering is great, and so is the interface, but I want my personal email on my own disk space.
You do realize that your personal email does go across the wire in plain text, right? :)
Doesn't bother me one bit (pun intended). I meant that I like to have my email safe where I can accidentally rm it rather than on Google's servers. I don't consider list mail as "my mail". Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
Ah, ok! I just know a lot of people got really upset about Google showing context specific ads on email. I just always smile at this wondering why people think any other form of plain/text is so much more secure.
I've always believed that if I'm going to get subjected to ads (Which of course I do) I want them to be as specific as possible...
