that's my code and even zip with full path, return $ret_val = 127;

AFAIK that's the error code for "command not found" which probably means PHP doesn't have execute permissions on the zip binary. There could be lots of reasons for that but you need to ask your sysadmin about it. -Stut -- http://stut.net/
