i upgraded to php4 and now can't save to mysql

i tried to compile php4 --with-mysql=/usr/include/mysql but it keeps telling me that it can't find the mysqlclient header files... what am i doing wrong? do you see another way to solve this problem (that only exists because i'm running php3&php4 as concurrent modules...) thks Michael
