AFAIK there is no support for that in PHP. I also wanted to be able to use
that to fetch a range of result rows of a given query and I needed to do
multiple fetches in a MS SQL loop iterating over a cursor. It only would
return one result identifier. So, I had to iterate on the PHP side but that
is not very efficient because it requires as many round trips to the
database server as many rows you need to fetch. You may want to look at
that here:

The problem of PHP native database APIs is that they are modelled after
MySQL API. Since MySQL does not even support server side cursors it
doesn't need the ability to fecth multiple results from a query. I think
you should go to the bug report database page and post a report there to
warn the maintainer that multiple result queries are only returning a
result set.
