Yep...we're on php4 and oracle and it runs fine (apart from the call-time
pass by reference warning because oci-8 needs recompiling to inlucde
pass-by-reference explicit functions -- unless someone knows another way to
return bound variables)

I use Linux/PHP/Oracle on my intranet at work and find that it is a great
combination. We get excellent performance and stability from relatively
modest hardware (dual ppro 200 with 512MB RAM). There are a few nuances to
the install, if I remember correctly, related to pthreads (I think), and you
have to pay close attention to your environment settings. There have been a
number of threads on this topic in the past where the details have been
discussed. Try searching the mailing list archives at
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=php-general.
If you need more specific help send me an email off the list and I will try
to help dig up the details for you.
Hope this helps,
Joe
