Ehrm... you're not *completely* wrong. ;) I do most of my programming at work in ASP.NET/VB.NET, and I've come to understand that the VIEWSTATE in an ASP.NET page is more or less for retaining form values and client-side settings. IIS/ASP.NET still uses sessions--and in much the same way as PHP. Todd Boyd Web Programmer
