Hello all,
In order to have better navication speed i enabled the caching on my php4 site
by calling the function (since is nocache by default) :
if (!$nocache) {
session_cache_limiter('private');
};
this is since i have pages that i dont want to be vached in any way.. (those
marked with the nocache flag..
now.. in the manual (And php.ini file) there is also a TIME limit for the cache
to expire (Expressed in minutes..)
well from my test this time doesnt reallywork. its set to 5 minutes here but i
see old pages well beyond that on my site. It appairs IE 5 is really sticky to
the pages that he had permission to cache. even setting back the permission to
NOCACHE doesnt show the page until i explicitally flush the IE page caches by
"deleting all offline content" .. but i assume this is a right behavious.. i
mean if it received permission to cache that page then tehre is no reson why
the server should have changed its mind before the original expiration..
anyone has had previous experiences (and possibly succes :) ) on the field?
Thanks for any comment
Sincerely
Giovanni Tummarello
