trans id enable?

Hello everyone--
I'm working on a SunOS sparc system with PHP4.0.3pl1 and I have
--enable-trans-id configured on it. However, something seems strange. I
thought that with trans-id enabled it would attach the session id (SID) at
the end of all the links printed on the page. The application I am working
on does not attach the SID to the end of each link and I really need it to
do that and I don't want to have to go in and manually attach the SID to
every link on my site.
