hi.
if anyone happens to have a spare moment to help a person figure out
what the heck he's missing ...
of the two files attatched to this email, 'index.phtml' was working ok.
but the part in 'index2.phtml' with the /* comments */ on it was
apparently causing a parse-error (which the parser was reporting as
being at the end of the document).
it's something like
<?php
print<<<MARKER
stuff
MARKER;
?>
which seemed to be causing the problem.
the problem area in index2.phtml seems totally similar to the working
'print<<<MARKER' statement in index.phtml . so what would be causing the
parser-error on index2.phtml? it's not any of the markup outside of the
"php" PI, is it?
i'm using php 4.something on suse linux 6.4 (their build).
if it turns out to be needed, i'll report more version-info than that.
it would be appreciated if you would cc: any replies to
s-champ@pacbell.net .
(seems like a high-traffic list, to subscribe for one question yet)
thanks for the help, if|when you do.
