I have only been able to use Apache's ForceType trick in the module version
of PHP.
It might be possible with some other Apache config tweaks to get it to work
with the CGI version. I recall some kind of directive with "Handler" in it
that I had to use with Dreamtime under Win32, but that's too far back in my
brain to be clear right now. :)

what the SCRIPT name is supposed to be in this case, but one document said I
should name it "script" and place it in "/some/path". This has failed to
cause "script" to be called.

Apache module only, or are they supposed to work with PHP as a CGI?
