Yes, it is valid
It is shorthand for
$varname=$varname . "blah";
So
$usermessage = "blah ";
$usermessage .= "blah";
print $usermessage will show
blah blah

Hey.
Got this question, is :
$usermessage = "blah"
$usermessage .= "blah blah"
mail($email, $subject, $usermessage) valid?
is the operator .= valid? is there another way to do this ?
