Hello Dhaval,
I think your in the wrong group, but that's okay.... Maybe try
linux.samba or something.
Setting up Samba is really easy. I'm not sure how to do it, but I can
give you advice.
First, you need to start swat. You might try running ntsysv and
enabling swat. If you can do that, then do a '/sbin/shutdown -r now'. If
ntsysv doesn't work, I don't know what to do, so go ask someone else. On
second though, maybe it is an inetd service. Try looking through
/etc/inetd.conf for swat. If you can uncomment the swat line, then issue
'ps waux | grep inetd' and find the pid number. It should be less than 1000
and, um, maybe be the first number. Then do 'kill -HUP {insert pid from
previous step here [without brackets]}'.
Secondly, you should point your browser at http://localhost:901. If it
works, swat is doing okay. Login as root. Welcome to swat! Everything is
fairly self-explanatory. If there isn't a link to a book about samba, then
go look at http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/samba/chapter/book/index.html.
Good luck! Read the manual for configuration options. The book might
be helpful, but I don't know... I hope this helps you.
