I read about this a little bit. There a priority order for setting vars
and it seems to go, by default, like this:
global first
get/post second
somthing else here
session last
meaning session overrides anything else.
There's some configuration or ini variable that defines this order, so your
installation may be (or can be) different.
That's not very detailed but it may help you along in the right direction.
