the "GENERAL" part is fairly important as it denotes which PHP list the message pertains to. I wouldn't mind seeing it shortened though, to maybe [PHP-GEN]. Unfortunately with proportional fonts, the uppercase letters take up more space (at least the letters in PHP-GENERAL) than their lowercase counterparts would. of course, if you're on a character terminal using pine, character width isn't a problem. I vote for new list names, such as [PHP-???]. michael

Hi guys! I use Pine, and as me, must of you maybe are using Pine too I always try to find the messages I want to read, sorting by Subject, and reading only the Subjects of the messages. After subscribing to the PHP-GENERAL List, it appends all thst staff before the Subject, so that, I can hardly read th e rest. Is there any way for the List Admins, to put something Shorter in the Subject List Identifier ? something like: PHP: [PHP} etc, Anyone with me ? or nobody care ? :-)) --=20
